The road doesn't end in August
Our first national qualifier ran in August 2026: four regional leaderboards, best five black bass by length, a national Tank Award, and a $4,000 minimum purse. The top five anglers from each region earned invitations to a planned in-person Lake Havasu championship. Participation was not sufficient to hold the in-person event that fall, but those invitations remain valid. We are aiming for 2027; date, format, and prize details will be announced when confirmed.
What comes next
Additional Paddle Trail online qualifiers may be announced throughout the year. These are separate from standalone Beer League tournaments like Slugfest and Monster Month. Only events explicitly labeled as Paddle Trail qualifiers offer championship invitations. Comprehensive information regarding qualifying rules, regions, payouts, and entry fees will be posted clearly for each individual event.
How a qualifier works
1. Register for an announced qualifier
Keep an eye on the schedule and sign up when a Paddle Trail qualifier is officially posted.
2. Fish eligible public water
Follow specific event rules and submit your CPR catches directly through Fishing Chaos.
3. Climb the regional leaderboard
Build your best five and chase a championship invitation under that event’s rules.
Boat, kayak, canoe, and bank anglers are welcome to participate when individual event rules permit.
